I don’t think anyone has ever regretted doing a face mask. To me, they’re the ultimate pamper and they have the added benefit of sorting out your skin. Whenever I’m in need of treating my skin, I pop a face mask on and it always does the job.
My skin has been literally terrible recently… and I have no idea why. Instead of dwelling over it, I’ve decided that I’ll simply take action. Which mainly includes drinking lots of water, eating better and face masks. Lots of them.
I tend to do a face mask whenever I can, there’s something nice about doing it after a big skincare routine but even in the day, if I’m having a slower morning and I don’t have to put my make up on straight away I’ll leave one to work its magic. I love doing a morning face mask, they’re really refreshing and just make me feel like I have my shit together?
Of course, I also like to spend a bit longer on my skincare, there’s nothing nicer than having a bath, a long soak and a scrub of my skin. I’ll often double cleanse, swipe on a mask and then moisturise and apply a face oil. If I feel my skin has been really bad that day, this is what I tend to do.
I regularly use my Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2-in-1 Wash and Mask, I love this as it’s a face wash also and it’s fairly cheap. It does a good job at cleansing my skin, and often I can put it on, leave it a bit and then wash it off, there’s no time limit which I love. I use a warm flannel to remove it as I find it gently exfoliates my skin. It’s the perfect daily pamper that I need.
Another favourite mask of mine is the Quick Fix Facials Anti-Blemish Mud Mask. I love clay or mud masks as they really dry out any spots that I have but don’t dry out my skin. I have fairly “normal” skin so I don’t know how this would react with oily skin but I find this mask makes my skin so soft. I picked this mask up in Tesco of all places, so glad I did!
Masks that I don’t tend to reach for that often but sometimes like to use are the “peel off” variety. I like them but sometimes the hassle of peeling them off annoys me you know? As often, you still have to use a flannel or something to get the last bits off. I have one from Glam Glow that I do like to use, I’ve mentioned it before a bit here and there and it’s only a sample but it’s lasted me so long. I love using samples as they allow you to try something before committing to the full size.
Some other brands of masks I love include the 7th Heaven ones, they do tons and have so much variety and Superdrug’s own brand (which all tend to be cruelty-free and vegan but check the packaging first).
I think something that I’d like to do this year
What are your favourite face masks?
