I wanted to chat about it on Instagram to share with all my lovely followers what’s happened but I thought I’d also share on here too as I’ve been a reader of Blogosphere Magazine for so long and it’s honestly such a dream come true to be featured in it.
Being a small blogger, I never thought I’d get “noticed” and have what I do be recognised in this way. It might not seem like much, but when I started blogging properly in 2015 after reading blogs for years, I felt like a very small fish in a very big pond. It’s all too easy to discredit yourself and
I think I’m still in shock that Blogosphere reached out to me to be featured. I was picked by the lovely Samantha from Made From Beauty and I have a whole page displaying one of my blog posts in the Beauty Section. Samantha also said some really lovely things about my images and posts that mean so much to me. The blog post that they picked is one from last year, where I chatted about “Lipstick For People Who Don’t Wear Lipstick” and you can read it here.
Posting on my blog used to just be a hobby for me. It took so much courage to start my blog, I had various other blogs that I didn’t share and didn’t take seriously but one day I just decided to. I kept it simple and just chose my name, I also started my Instagram alongside it. After I dropped out of university, I continued blogging it was just a way for me to be creative and gave me purpose in a very confusing time in my life. I’m still confused about life and that’s probably not going to change for a while but I’m so happy where I’m at right now with my blog. I have made some really lovely friends through blogging and it allows me to share my thoughts and opinions in a space that completely my own.
Anyone that has got a blog probably understands how nerve-wracking it is, you’re worried that no one’s going to read it OR that people IRL will find it and write it. This was definitely something that I was worried about but actually, everyone who knows about my blog has been so so supportive and thinks it really cool.
If you’re toying with the idea of starting a blog, then I’d say just go for it. Do it for yourself, find something you love to talk about and just blog. No one will probably read it to start off with (harsh but true, however, it also gives you the freedom to start posting whatever you want!). Make friends, support others blogs and share on social media. Experiment with everything such as your writing, blog layout and photography and just have fun with it. The blogging community is one of the most welcoming communities out there and creating something that you love (whatever your niche) feels amazing. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication at times but overall, even if blogging is just a hobby, it’s something that you won’t regret.
As always, thank you to everyone that reads my blog, comments, follows me, likes my photography and just supports me in any way possible. I can’t think you enough and I’m so appreciative of every single one of you.
