Aren’t hairbrushes one of those things that you don’t really think about? I have a hairbrush that I use every day, multiple times a day sometimes.. that I brought about 8 years ago! It’s crazy the things that we use without thinking of replacing them. The bristles are a little bit bent now and there’s even a few missing. It was definitely time to treat me and my hair to a new brush…

Luckily for me, the lovely team over at Rock & Ruddle reached out, offering me the chance to try out their natural bristle brushes. Rock & Ruddle are a company that was founded in 2012, they offer premium-bristle hairbrushes featuring beautiful, bright designs. Made with high-quality bristles, their brushes detangle hair without damaging it and their brushes even encourage the natural oils to distribute evenly in your hair.

As mentioned, the natural bristles that Rock & Ruddle use are renowned for caring for your hair due to the structure being similar to your own hair. Each bristle easily glides through your hair, effortless detangling and also conditioning your hair by spreading the natural oils from your scalp throughout your hair making it glossy and healthy.

The rubber pads in their hairbrushes ensure that brushing your hair feels gentle and does not pull your hair, which could cause damage to the hair strands. They have a choice of four different natural bristle types. What bristle type is best for you/your hair depends on your hair type and personal preference:

  • Mixed Bristles – with a nylon tip in each bristle bundle which is ideal for detangling and conditioning normal to thick hair
  • 100% Pure – works best with fine hair or if you a sensitive scalp and require very gentle brushing
  • Soft White – for our youngest customers available in our small brush only. This bristle type is ideal for baby’s
first hair and up to the age of around two years
  • 100% Synthetic Bristle – for those seeking a vegan alternative with nylon tips, great for detangling and gentle
    hair care

I went for one of their Super Size Luxury Brushes (I have a lot of hair!) in the colour Lavender, I also have Natural Bristles and Nylon Tips included on my brush but as mentioned above there is a range to choose from to suit you/your hair preference. They have so many lovely colours and patterns to choose from, there really is a lot of options and it made picking a brush very hard! I went for my favourite colour in the end, and I’m glad I did, it’s a lovely classic colour. They have some fab designs and even the option to personalise your hairbrush. I think that’s such a lovely idea and would make such a nice gift too.

What I love is about their hairbrushes in particular is that they’ve been designed so that you can take out the rubber bristle pads in order to easily clean the whole brush. This is something that can prolong the life of any hairbrush but it’s also something that people forget to do. It can make a whole world of difference to not only the health of your hair but how your hair looks too… I can guarantee after reading this paragraph you’re off to clean your hairbrush!

I’ve been using my Rock & Ruddle Hairbrush for a little while and I don’t think I could go back to using just any brush now. This brush is great for detangling my hair, it doesn’t pull or damage my hair and is really gentle to use when getting any knots out. I think my hair looks better too, I didn’t think I’d notice the appearance of my hair changing all that much but actually, I think the natural bristles really do help to distribute the natural oils, which stops your hair from looking greasy (as hair normally looks greasy at the top of your head/crown) but it makes my hair just look lovely and healthy. I wouldn’t say it made my hair shiny or glossy exactly but it looks really healthy and I found it was easier to style too.

Have you heard of Rock & Ruddle before? What type of hairbrush do you use?
