Over this summer, I’ve actually turned into a bit of a night shower person. There’s something really comforting about having a long, pampering shower, putting fresh PJs on and getting into bed. It’s become a bit of a routine of mine and yes, I’m aware that makes me sound about 90 years old.
I wanted to share a few of my shower time essentials today, these products are ones that I use daily that I know I can rely on.
I actually use the Soap & Glory Flake Away Body Polish before I turn the water on in the shower, I find this helps shift some of the dry skin that might be lingering and also, I’ve stopped using those body puffs that you can get as they just need replacing so often and it was annoying me! A scrub is a great alternative and lasts longer too. I then use the Nivea Shower Clay Wash to help freshen up and get rid of any lingering bits of the scrub, this has such a nice scent that I feel really refreshed whenever I use it.
If I’m washing my hair, I normally wet my hair and put conditioner in straight away, I’ll then take care of washing my body, then do my skincare routine (in the shower, I know?! It’s bad but I’m lazy) and then I’ll shampoo and then get out the shower. If I’m not washing my hair, I’ll honestly just put it up in a messy bun! I’m loving the Hask Haircare range at the moment, which you can read more about in this post but I’ve got so many haircare loves that I’m constantly switching up my shampoo and conditioner. I’ve heard this can actually be quite good for your hair! The Palmer’s Olive Oil Shampoo and Conditioner is fab and I also love my Clarifying Shampoo from Boots that just leaves my hair feeling SO clean.
After reading this post from Kate La Vie, I now need to invest in this little Scalp Massager! I can sometimes have trouble with my hair and this sounds like a dreamy little investment, have you tried anything like this before?
If I’m shaving (which, let’s be honest, doesn’t happen often) I’ll use a men’s facial razor, any brand that I’ve got and some hair conditioner instead of shaving foam. I’m all for a multi-purpose product and I haven’t bought shaving foam in years as I just don’t feel the need for it.
Once I jump out the shower, I use Bio-Oil on my scar as I’ve found it’s the best thing for it, I’ve heard that if you’re trying to heal a scar you should never let it become dry?! I’m actually hoping to get my scar smoothed out a bit soon with injections if my surgeon thinks it’s the right time to do it, which should be an interesting process.
I use my serums, finish off my skincare routine and then the last step before I get dressed is to moisturize. I love basically anything by Soap & Glory for this. Their Righteous Butter is amazing and I mention it alll the time as I literally use it every day. I’ve also got a Moisturising Mousse from Nivea that I’ve been using recently too. If I’m feeling lazy then I just use this as it is so quick and easy to use but otherwise I like to really smooth a moisturiser in to look after my skin.
This sounds like a loong routine but I promise it doesn’t take that long, but it does alway leave me feeling lovely and relaxed!
