Although I’m introducing you to my Autumn beauty edit, I have to admit my make up routine doesn’t really change all that much! I have a few cult products that I love to use again and again and I’ve also been investing in my skin and embracing sparkle again during my favourite time of the year.
I love to wear a fresher base in the Spring/Summer months but it also happens that once summer gets into full swing, I stop wearing make up altogether. So for autumn, I’m allll about the big bold lashes and also introducing more sparkle into my life… which is basically always my go-to look.
I’m on the hunt for a new mascara (shout me if you have any recommendations!) but I think I’m going to re-purchase the L’Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara as I really like it. I’ve also been sent some lashes recently from Eylure which is a brand I absolutely love (check out this post for the details) so I’m excited to make my eyes the main focus of any make up look.
I love a fresh base so my foundation routine hasn’t really changed but I am trying to find the perfect blush/highlight duo. The kind of product that gives you such a nice flush of colour but also contains a tiny bit of shimmer so it gives you a natural-looking glow too. I’ve been using my Beautonomy palettes for this as they give me a really nice colour, I also find them great to mix. I have the shade “Graceful Salmon” which is a really lovely cool-toned pink with a subtle gold shimmer. It gives me a really lovely natural highlight but I also find I dab a little bit of my Glossier Highlight on top too as I cannot get enough of it.
I’ve been using my Beautonomy palettes a lot recently as I find they’re fab for traveling (and I have an upcoming trip which they’ll definitely be joining me for!) and they’re just so handy to reach for.
This is a tip I learned from Kate La Vie that I’ve definitely mentioned before but I love taking a bit of shimmer under my eyes. I either use an eyeshadow stick or I just use a small amount of eyeshadow and just sweep it under my eyes, I just make sure I do this before my concealer to make sure it’s tidy. I tend to go for a gold-based shimmer as it catches the light really well and makes my eyes sparkle but I’ll use anything Autumnal for this time of year, like a lovely deep brown but I wouldn’t mind using a deep purple or forest green. I either go really light-handed with this or pact a lot on, it just depends on my mood. Even if I’m going for a simple look or if I have to be really quick with my make up, this always takes it to the next level and it’s really quick and easy to do.
I feel like even though my make up routine doesn’t really change much, I’m always trying to introduce new textures and products and my main focus is to keep my make up looking light and fresh. Looking after my skin is also my number one priority so I try (try being the right word there) to drink a lot of water and I’ve been introducing new skincare products into my routine too, which you should see in a post soon!
