How To Make Beauty Routines Work For You.

I’ve seen a lot of posts floating around the blogosphere recently of “beauty Resolutions”, I even did a post last year about my own beauty resolutions. I love reading these types of posts, any chances you can make for yourself for the better is always good. Self improvement is always a good thing.

However, instead of sharing some beauty resolutions this year, I thought that I’d chat about how you can actually make those resolutions work for you. Obviously I’m no expert at this but hopefully, this might help a few of you out there.

Have Everything In One Place.

This is probably an easy one, but having everything in one place makes it a hell of a lot easier to actually stick to your beauty routine. Towards the end of last year, I found it easier for me to brush my teeth downstairs at a sink instead of going upstairs to the big bathroom, and this soon turned into me not bothering to go upstairs for anything apart from showering. I would even moisturise in my bedroom before I got dressed. Now if having little beauty bits everywhere works for you then go for it but I find it easier to have everything in my bathroom and actually do it all in there. I tend to take more time with my skincare routine, and it means I change things up a bit more instead of just using the same products all the time.

Make Small Resolutions.

This one might seem a bit strange as I’m almost telling you not to have goals but what I mean is, just don’t go making about 23965 resolutions that you won’t be able to stick to. Make easy ones that are easy to mix into your already established routine. Perhaps if you feel you don’t experiment with your make up enough, you could make sure you wear eyeshadow on the weekends. Or try to moisturise every day when you get out of the shower. Make sure you get your eyebrows done every month by making another appointment while you’re still at the salon. Make little changes instead of trying to do everything at once.

Make it fun.

Make these new routines part of a pamper. Make it a treat to spend a bit more time on yourself and you’ll find yourself sticking to your resolutions. If one of your resolutions is to drink more water, buy yourself a cute water bottle or glass which makes you excited to use it. If you want to use up your beauty products, find a better way to organise them or have a clear out and give anything you won’t use to a friend or to a women’s shelter.

Remember not to be too hard on yourself if you forget, just start again the next day.
