A Hydrating New Release From Dermalogica.

A wonderful little package turned up on my doorstep a few days ago containing a lovely new skincare treat from my favourite skincare brand; Dermalogica. They very kindly sent over their New Biolumin-C Gel Moisturizer. A powerful daily brightening gel that provides hydration and radiance, all in one.

The key ingredients to the Biolumin-C Gel Moisturizer are:

  • Vitamin C Complex: this delivers brightening and antixoidant benefits
  • Hyaluronic Acid: long lasting hydration to your skin
  • Plant-Based Squarlane: improves skin elasticity and helps mimimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Verbascum Thapsus Flower Extract: transfroms uv rays into visible light for luminostity

This is a very lightweight moisturiser that is perfect for daytime use because it’s a gel, it’s not heavy and it doesn’t add any weight to your skin/skincare routine. It sinks into your skin really fast too which makes it perfect for use in the morning when you want something light but hydrating before following with make up.

Vitamin C is a very good ingredient to include in your skincare routine as it keeps your skin bright, healthy and hydrated. It also helps fight pollution damage and skin ageing – It’s best to apply vitamin-c enriched products in the morning as this is when your skin will benefit from the brightening aspects but you can apply it in the evening or even twice daily for the best results. If applying in the morning – always follow with an SPF.

I’m really keen on using high-quality products on my skin that have multiple benefits and make my morning routine easier. Sometimes I think skincare can be such a minefield so having products that make your routines simple is such a godsend. I like the fact that if I go in with this moisturizer, I don’t have to follow up with an extra vitamin-c serum, as often, I just don’t have the time.

I’ve been using this Biolumin-C Gel Moisturizer for a few days now and I’ve definitely seen an improvement in my skin. It’s not quite been long enough to see lasting benefits but my skin is definitely brightened when I’ve applied this in the morning. Although you can also apply this in the evening, I normally go for something a tiny bit richer in texture as my skin can be dry – I’m sure I’d see quicker results if I did apply product this twice a day.

I’ve used a few products from Dermalogica’s Biolumin-C Range before and always been impressed. This Gel Moisturizer has a very hydrating feel to it, it’s light and also very refreshing when applied to your skin. I also absolutely love the smell of it, it has got quite a strong scent to it (so if your skin is sensitive reacts to products with added scents then I would be careful) which is actually so lovely – it smells as if you’ve literally just peeled an orange… such a lovely product to use in the morning for this very reason!

I’ve really enjoyed using this new product from Dermalogica over the last few days and will continue to use it and report back on how I’m getting on… so far, I’m very impressed!

Have you used any products from Dermalogica before? What’s the most important step in your morning skincare routine?
