Black Lives Matter.

Over the past week, there’s been a big change happening in the world and most particularly on social media. People who have been quiet about such issues before have woken up and realised the casual racism that surrounds everyday life needs to end.

George Floyd was the name of the Black man who was murdered by police in Minneapolis, Minnesota by kneeling on his neck for 9 minutes. He was 46 years old.

George Floyd’s name and death have made world news and has finally sparked outrage within the world, and rightly so. We all need to put an end to casual racism and stop black people and people of colour from wrongly dying from the police brutality that’s directed towards them.

This isn’t just a problem that’s happening in America. It’s global and it needs to stop.

I felt that it was only right for me to use my platform to give some guidance to what you can do to help as I don’t think anyone has the right to be silent about this:

If there are any other ways you guys know that can help then please share them in the comments, I wanted to share some resources that have helped me during this time to educate myself but there are so many ways we can help out there. This is by no means a be-all and end-all list so do your own research and let’s keep the conversation going.

I also want to link to my friend Lucy’s post which has so many great resources and is an excellent place to start if you want to know what to do\who to follow.
