Some of you might remember that I was lucky enough to work with LQ Liquid Health before, which you can read here. Well, they’ve very recently had a complete relaunch/rebrand. Yesterday was the official reveal of the new look, they are now LQ Collagen, with a totally new look and a few new products under their belt.
I have been testing out one of their new products and I couldn’t wait to share it with you!
I was very kindly sent their Skin, Hair, Nails Passionfruit Flavour Collagen Powder. A food supplement with 10,000mg of Marine Collagen per serving. It contains Biotin which contributes to the maintenance of normal skin and hair and also Selenium which contributes to the maintenance of normal nails.
It also contains Vitamin C which helps the normal function of your skin. Overall, it does a lot and contains a lot of vitamins you might be missing out on.
I have wanted to introduce more supplements into my diet for a little while and this year, I’ve really achieved that. I’m trying to grow my hair so this supplement is essential for me at the moment.
I also like the fact that I don’t have to take tablets, making this a really good option for people who struggle with this as I know what a nightmare it can be.
You simply use one level scoop of powder (15g) to 150ml of cold water and stir before drinking. Now, it tastes okay, a lot better then some things I’ve had in the past (Magnesium powder is disgusting to drink, like chalky water!) but with the added bit of sweeter this is actually quite bearable.
I don’t let it sit for ages, I make it up and then more or less drink it all in one which works for me, but you could add this powder to a smoothie or shake or add a bit of juice into the water as well which I have done in the past.
I also have introduced a Biotin tablet into my daily routine so I only use this powder once a week, normally on a Sunday (and I don’t take the tablet on that day) just to make sure I’m not taking too much, as that can have side effects too.
I don’t think I’ve noticed the benefits of this supplement just yet, as it takes time to get into your system and to notice the benefits, however, I have been taking it for about two weeks now and it’s very easy to include into my lifestyle. It’s almost like a little self-care ritual now, where I have it on a Sunday after the gym. I like the fact I’m taking a little bit of me time and looking after myself.
I have definitely had clearer skin lately though, but I have been going to the gym a lot more lately so I can’t put it completely down to the powder. I like to think it has contributed and given me a bit of a boost in that department though.
I really have enjoyed experimenting with different beauty supplements and I’d really recommend this powder for ease, it’s so simple to include in your diet/lifestyle and within the next couple of weeks, I’ll definitely start to physically see the benefits.
I think I might do a post about six weeks from now, giving an update on how I feel after taking this supplement weekly. Would that be something you’d be interested in?
What do you think of the LQ Collagen rebrand? Do you take supplements daily?
