Introducing: Dermalogica Skincare

I was very recently introduced to Dermalogica products when the brand reached out, inviting me to be a part of their #skinfluencer programme. I hadn’t tried anything from Dermalogica before although I was interested in the brand as I’ve seen a lot of people rave about their products, so this was really exciting for me. I have talked about them on my social before however, I wanted to do a post introducing the brand to anyone who might not have come across them yet.

Dermalogica sent along a massive bundle of products which I have been enjoying testing out. I have used everything a good few times now and my skin definitely doesn’t seem to get as many blemishes as it did before using these products.

I use the Dermalogica Pre-Cleanse as the first step in my skincare routine. I do like to double cleanse so adding this Pre-Cleanse into the mix is perfect for me. This product is quite a thin consistency which turns white when you add water. It doesn’t really smell of anything either which is actually quite nice as normally products have added fragrance in them which isn’t the greatest for sensitive skin.

After using the pre-cleanse, I’ll then use the Daily Microfoilant. This is such an interesting product (that I’ve never come seen before!) as it’s a very fine powder which you add water to, this allows you to get the perfect consistency for you, as everyone’s skin is different. I love how gentle this product is, even people with super sensitive skin would love this as it is gentle and non-abrasive. I find this product leaves my skin feeling smooth and clear afterwards. I like to use this once a day, either in the morning or evening.

I’ll use the Special Cleansing Gel last as I find it helps really keep my skin clean and clear without drying it out or giving it that tight feeling. This is another super gentle product and a little goes a long way. After this, depending on if it’s morning or evening, I’ll use the Skin Smoothing Cream to moisturise and add hydration. This is actually a new product from Dermalogica and promotes 48 hours of hydration… which I would definitely agree with as my skin feels so moisturised and hydrated after using this product.

In the evening, if I’ve done all these steps in the morning, I’ll just use the pre-cleanse and the special cleansing gel as my double cleanse and then I’ll go in with serums. I keep on mentioning the Freshly Cosmetics Serums/Oils at the moment but I do literally use them every day. I’ve stopped using moisturiser in the evenings to see what difference it does to my skin, so using either of these serums (or both!) keeps my skin feeling hydrated and looking glowy without stripping it of nutrients.

What I like about this routine is how simple it is, it doesn’t complicate things with too many products but I know my skin is benefiting from the products I am using. I also have the Skinperfect SPF 30 Primer from Dermalogica, which I haven’t used too much yet. It has a slight tint to it as it is meant to help smooth fine lines, brighten and prime your skin/prep it ready for make up application. My first impressions of this product are really good as it feels like velvet against my skin. I haven’t used this too much yet, but I will keep you updated!

About once or twice a week I’ll use a face mask and my favourite at the moment is the Nivea Urban Skin Detox Mask as it’s so quick and easy to use, there’s no fuss with it and I feel like it keeps my skin looking healthy. After I use this I find my skin looks instantly brighter which is just what I want from a mask!

What do you think of these products/my routine? Have you tried anything from Dermalogica before?
