Secret Scent Box – October

So the lovely people over at Secret Scent Box got in contact with me a little while ago, offering to send me their October box, I’m under no obligation to review it, however, I think this subscription service is a wonderful idea so I wanted to let you guys know about it (I know the rules have changed recently so I have no idea whether I’m meant to post this as an ad or not but I hope that clears everything up!).

So in a nutshell, Secret Scent Box is a monthly subscription box that allows you to discover a new designer perfume or aftershave. They tailor to both men and women and you get posted a new set of fragrance each month. There’s no commitment, no contracts, you get free delivery & you can cancel at any time.

I like the fact that you get a 30 day supply, this might not seem like it from the little bottles but they’ve worked this out to be about 4 sprays a day. All the fragrances they use are 100% authentic and are from brands that you’re bound to recognise.

With each box, you also get cards which tell you about the fragrances included, a really handy idea as this makes it easy to remember which perfume you liked the most, also making it easy for you to purchase it at a later date (or to drop hints to someone to buy it for you!).

The three scents that I received are:

“This fragrance is indispensable while visiting the city of London if one wants to feel the pulse of this old and contemporary city.”

Top notes: Rose, Honeysuckle, Tangerine

Middle notes: Tiare Flower, Jasmine, soft Peony

Base Notes: Wood, Musk

“Launched 2018, this scent celebrates a new facet of the Jimmy Choo woman, an innate extrovert with a playful energy and sense of fun.

Top notes: Black Plum Nectar, Lychee, Grapefruit

Middle notes: Heliotrope, Vanilla Orchid, Jasmine

Base notes: Tonka Bean, Benzoin, Sandalwood

“A great, on-trend fragrance for young women, FCUK Connect Her Eau de Toilette is a floral perfume which is perfect for every day wear.”

Top notes: Lotus, Bergamot, Lily-of-the-Valley

Middle notes: Jasmine, Violet, Peony

Base notes: Sandalwood, Virginia Cedar, Amber

I’m pleasantly surprised that I actually like all three scents that I received as normally I can be quite fussy with fragrance, they have to smell like “me” if that makes sense. The ones that I am drawn to the most are the Burberry “London” scent and also Fever by Jimmy Choo, I think the former being my personal favourite. I love how this subscription box allows you to try out the scents first. You can often buy a perfume and then realise that it doesn’t suit you and for this reason I know lots of people like to “try out” their scents first before they buy them. This box allows you to do just that. It also allows you to try fragrances that you might never have picked for yourself.

With Christmas coming up (don’t kill me for mentioning the C word in October!), I think this could make such a lovely gift for those people that are perhaps slightly harder to buy for, someone into their fragrance or even someone who doesn’t live near you who deserves a treat.

I recommend checking out this company if you haven’t already! What do you think of this subscription box? Would it be something you’d like to receive in the post?
