Everyone knows how important it is to look after their health and although I have a whole bathroom filled with skincare and make up. I am terrible when it comes to looking after my body from the inside out. I think this comes down to the fact that it’s easier to remember to wash your face then it is to take some vitamins. It is something that I want to get better with though so when LQ Liquid Health got in contact, I was very keen to trial their products. I was sent their ten day supply of their Skin, Hair and Nails Supplement. This is tiny 50ml drink which you can have over the course of that day or all in one go (I like to down mine). Liquid health supplements have faster absorption rates and are more easily digestible than taking other supplements. This is called bioavailabilty and basically means that it’s easier to absorb (as mentioned above) but that there is also a greater benefit from each dose. These little bottles each contain 7,000mg of Marine Collagen, which is the most abundant, naturally occurring protein in the human body. Silicon (a mineral found in hair, skin and nails) and Resveratrol (extracted from red grapes) are also main ingredients.
You might think thats a lot already but there’s so much goodness packed into these bottles. As well as the above, they also contain Vitamin C, Selenium, Biotin, Vitamin E and Hyalurronic Acid. They are also Gluten, Lactose and Dairy Free.
The instructions are basically, shake well and drink one of these a day. Which is quite simple to do however the hardest thing I’ve found is remembering to drink them. That is mainly why I don’t get on with taking vitamins as I always forget. I think a good trick is just putting them where you can see them, if they’re hidden away in a cupboard you’re not as likely to take them.
I think once you’ve started taking these, after a few days it gets easier to work them into your routine. Taking them with other vitamins or medications would help or making it the first thing to do when you wake up or last thing before bed.
I’m generally not very good at remembering to take pills and I think that comes down to the fact that I don’t particularly like swallowing them. I’ve been this way since I was a kid but even now I struggle. Something that I know I’m not alone in, lots of people struggle or just avoid taking tablets. That’s why I think drinking your vitamins is such a good way to make sure you’re still getting vitamins into your system but in a way that’s much easier for you personally.
I like to drink these all in one go however you can also do it gradually over the course of the day if that works better for you. I do like how you can alter it to suit your needs.
The taste of these is very hard to describe, they have added sweetener however I like the fact that they’ve kept the product very natural. There’s no point having a natural vitamin drink if you’re just going to fill it with sugar to make it taste nicer. It’s not something thats “nice” to drink if that makes sense but it’s also not unpleasant and it’s only 50ml so doesn’t last long.
Today was actually my last day of drinking these. I think I have missed a day here or there which is my fault, however missing a day doesn’t seem to have a massive effect as I’ve just carried on the next day. I think taking a lot of vitamins in a short space of time has really allowed me to notice a difference and if I went extended periods between taking them, I wouldn’t have noticed as much of an effect as I have. Obviously it’s still better to take vitamins then not, but I think having this ten day challenge has really helped me see a difference.
There have been few things that I’ve definitely noticed over the past few days, one being that my skin has improved in texture and I haven’t had as many new blemishes pop up as I normally would have. Overall, my skin is fairly clear however, I have some troublesome areas. This is mainly around my chin where I get the most uneven texture. I have noticed that this has been looking a lot clearer recently, which has made my make up go on smoother and even meant I’ve had more make up free days as I’ve felt so confident without it and having my natural skin on show. I’ve also not gotten as many blemishes and I think they’ve gone away quicker than they normally would. I’ve always wondered whether taking vitamins would effect my skin and this is evidence that it does.
As many of you will know if you’ve been following me on Instagram or just been reading my blog for a while (love you) is that I have acrylic nails, and every few weeks I have to get infills. Normally it’s about three weeks but more often than not I last until about four as I’m busy and find it hard to get to the nail salon but by this point, they’re literally halfway down my nail with growth and coming away from my nail bed (which is the most annoying thing EVER as my hair always gets caught). This time though, they only lasted just over two weeks. They were so grown out and coming away from the nail like crazy, so much so that three actually came off. I definitely think taking these supplements improved the health of my nails, as they just seemed stronger than normal. When I decide that acrylics are no longer for me, I’d definitely love to go on another course of these to help with the health and strength of my nails again.
The only thing that I haven’t really noticed a difference with is my hair. I think if I was going to see a change with it, I’d definitely have to be on the Skin, Hair and Nails Supplements for longer. However the general health of it could have still improved, but not to a noticeable point.
Overall I’m so pleased with all the changes that I’ve seen in such a short period of time and would definitely love to continue taking these supplements. I don’t really have a bad word to say about them and I think it would be a life changing product for people who don’t like taking vitamins. They have so many other supplements in their range too. They have an advanced Skincare range (which would definitely be something I’d love to try next) but even supplements to help with Digestion and even Joint Care.
What do you think of this range? Is it something you’d be interested in trying?
