After realising that I was coming to the end of my beloved Nivea cleanser (sob!) I decided that instead of just repurchasing, I wanted to explore different products and find items which I know work for me and my skin. I decided to go on the hunt for a cleanser which was gentle but effective at getting a full face of make up off.
It was when I was recently in Superdrug and pretty much everything was on offer (my boyfriend had to stop me from buying alllll the things) that I found this little gem. I managed to leave with this Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser and I was pretty pleased with myself. I was drawn to this product because it is a non-comedogenic, fragrance free and soap free cleanser so I was pretty much expecting it to be super gentle and just what I was looking for. I have quite sensitive skin which I like to be careful with, but also this is a product that I would be using everyday, twice a day and that I literally use to scrub my face clean so I think it’s understandable that I don’t want to use anything harsh.
My first impressions of this were pretty average, I always cleanse twice, the first time to remove make-up and any dirt and the second time to really deep down clean my skin. This is quite a watery product which I wasn’t expecting and because of this, I feel like I probably accidentally use more then I should or have to. This is my only real issue with this product as otherwise it is quite a great every day cleanser that removes dirt and leaves your skin clear and fresh. I find that using this with a flannel is really effective and gives you that tiny bit of gentle exfoliation that you sometimes need. Lately I seem to be getting less under the skin type spots (those ones that absolutely kill) however I don’t really know if that is down to this product entirely. I would highly recommend this if you have sensitive skin or want something gentle to use. The biggest thing that I have learnt about skincare is that you shouldn’t have to scrub your face everyday for it to be clean and I now use more gentle products which are much more beneficial for my skin. I think that I will be repurchasing this in the future as it is perfect for everyday use.
Have you tried anything from Cetaphil before? Let me know what you think.
